BLURB

A playboy in hiding

A woman searching for answers

Will he let her in or send her packing?

After a tragic accident, Chef Chase Fitzgerald left his life in Los Angeles behind and moved to a ranch in Montana. He's convinced that all he needs to be happy are his horses, a few ranch hands and the Big Sky Country. Until one day, Nikki Savoy walks through his doors with her city clothes, sexy mouth, and a body designed to drive a man insane.

Nikki wants to know the truth about the accident that left her sister in a coma. Getting a job at Chase’s ranch is just the beginning. Throw in a crafty housekeeper, a cantankerous old cowboy, a few adorable horses, and an attraction that can’t be denied, and you have a recipe for disaster or romance. Will Nikki get her answers or will Chase offer her something better?

EXCERPT

He looked down at her, and for one brief moment, his mind went blank as he once more became aware of her as a woman and not the gifted web designer about to rescue his records. She really was exquisite. Creamy skin begging to be stroked. Lips so soft and lush a man had to be a eunuch not to want to taste them. And her eyes beckoned him, when they weren’t daring him to forget he was raised right, and haul her into his arms.

“Fitzgerald?”

Her calm voice penetrated his sensual thoughts. It annoyed him that she was so unruffled all the time when he couldn’t think straight around her. Wanting to rattle her a little, he shifted and propped his butt on his desk, so he could see her face. “I stopped doubting you the moment you said you wouldn’t insult me by climbing into my bed.”

Her cheeks grew pink. “That is what convinced you? Why?”

“The look in your eyes said you actually meant it.” Her eyes widened, and he grinned. The flustered look suited her.

“What look?” she asked, sounding skeptical. She had a right to be. He was making up things as he went, reverting to his old self hours after meeting her.

“Like I was a troll with warts and bulbous nose.” She laughed.

The sound washed over him, and his heartbeat shot up a notch. He feigned hurt and gave her his most whipped puppy look. “Now you are laughing at me.”

“Not at you, but at what you said.”

“Does that mean I’m not trollish?”

“It means you’re fishing for compliments.” She stood and looked down at him with a challenging twinkle in her eyes. “You are not trollish, Fitzgerald. You are just not my type.”

No way. Women loved him. Ever since he hit puberty and acquired muscles, women, young and old, never stopped chasing him. And he always accommodated them. “What the hell is your type?”

Excerpt

Painting the mythic vampire

The deep royal blue sky of the Italian Riviera provided the perfect backdrop to the posed woman. She was an otherworldly figure set amongst the ancient columns. Her softly accented voice broke the stillness. "Are you sure about this?"
She watched as he added a daub more paint, "I am sure. You said it yourself, the best way to deny something it is to say it is true."
"And what if the Council finds out?"
Alfredo dabbed on a different colour. Going by the look on his face, he still did not have the skin colour the exactly right colour of purple. It had been frustrating him all evening. There was a timeline that neither one of them had mentioned, but it loomed in their thoughts. He was getting older, and no one lived forever. His words dragged her out of the wave of sadness that swept through her. "This mythical Council of yours, what if they do notice the paintings? They are just paintings."
"The Council is no myth. They rule our world."
"I thought the King ruled your homeworld?"
Lisa started to shrug but remembered in time not to move from the pose. "His rule is absolute, so long as he leaves all the day to day decisions, like whether to exile his daughter to Earth, to the Council."
"And you, as this poor exiled waif are concerned that one of those 'day to day' decisions may be objecting to this painting?"
Lisa snorted at the sarcasm in his voice, knowing it was meant more to chide her out of the doldrums than anything else. "They defend of the safety of Shayton. They hold dear her anonymity. It keeps her from being destroyed by those that fear the different, which, my dear, you must agree describes most humans remarkably well."
Alfredo nodded, "And trust me, the picture of a masked dancer with obviously fake wings..." Lisa snorted again at this description of her body, "will ensure that any little slip ups like the one in Venice, will be seen as a publicity stunt and nothing else. Your Council will thank us."

BLURB

An otherworldly, evil and dangerous force infests America’s oldest and most haunted city, St.

Standing between this invader and the people of St. Augustine are teenagers Jeff and Carla, the
mysterious Native American shaman, Lobo, and Lyle, the homeless guy.

In their quest to save themselves and all the inhabitants of this ancient, Florida city, Jeff and Carla uncover lost parts of St. Augustine history, push past the limits of space and time, and encounter what

they come to realize are the true walking dead.

EXCERPT

On most of our walk through the neighborhood, Lobo never said a word. So much for the “chatting”part our little journey Carla mentioned. But in that silence I realized I had a lot of questions to ask Loboabout my mom’s appearance. The thing is, I didn’t want to be the one to speak first. Our little outing was his project, not mine. I wanted to see what he had to say first.

But when we got to Osceola Street and Lobo jerked a thumb to the right, I stopped walking. “Why do you want to go down there?” I asked, getting the chills just thinking about turning that corner.

“Why not? Lobo fired back, his rough voice full of challenge.

“You wanted to talk, so let’s talk.” I had no patience for any of his little word games. Not that day.

“Afraid of seeing your old house, are you?”

“Come on, Lobo, it’s just too soon that’s all. There’s no reason to go there now.”

“On the contrary. We have every reason. Your mother’s warning a short time ago tells me we have no

time to waste.”

“A warning about what?” My irritation showed in my voice. The nervousness about going back to my

house so soon was really getting to me. But Lobo’s use of the word “warning” definitely caught my

attention.

Author Info
So being a writer you’d think I’d come up with some interesting story about myself. Funny lines, heart stopping stories… wrong. All wrong. Here’s the basics: I was born in Brookline, Massachusetts. I currently reside in Smithfield, NC with my amazing husband that I have been with for 7 years. We have three wonderful children who like to keep us busy! I love to cook and bake, but it can be a challenge to find something everyone likes! Someone is always complaining and refusing to eat what I slaved over a hot stove for. That is part of the reason I should invest in wine. I drink it. A lot. I started writing when I was VERY young. Pretty much since I could put pen to paper stories started to come! I was first published when I was 13. Cool right? No, it wasn’t smut. Actually, it was poetry. I have 5 sisters and one brother. I am very proud of my family! Fun stuff to know: I love Moscato. I don’t have a favorite color, although my husband might disagree with me on that one. I talk in movie quotes, and it gets annoying at times. I have a severe addiction to Ginger Ale of all things. Without enough sleep, my family avoids me because I revert back to a toddler. I love to smile and laugh, often at my husband’s expense. He does the same thing to me, it’s all fair game. I HATE talking on the phone. But it is a necessary evil. I don’t know how to handle people when they are crying. It gets awkward and I don’t know what to do. Please don’t cry in front of me. I love deeply, and I’m a fiercely loyal friend. I won’t and don’t judge people; I’ll be friends with anyone. I’m a die-hard Red Sox fan- my best friend is a Yankee’s fan. Case in point. Bored yet? OK. Let’s wrap this up. Walking Dead, Son’s of Anarchy and book boyfriends. Oh and Luke Bryan – Oh! And I can't cook a baked potato to save my life. Seriously, it's a lost cause.

Kristin is also looking for Street Team members. If you would like to join Please PM her Author Page. Thank you!

Excerpt #1

“Hey Georgia, is there anything I could do that you wouldn’t forgive me for?” Shane asks me, without breaking eye contact.

“Like, if you kill someone or something” I ask.
“Anything, anything at all” Shane continues. “From small things to big things, is there anything you wouldn’t forgive me for?”
“Hurting people is kind of a big thing for me.” I confess.
“OK good.”
“Why?” I ask, wondering what is this guy up to. Is he going to make Jason or Harper disappear? Is he going to paint the water tower or something?
“I want to make sure you forgive me for what I am about to do.” He says, closing his eyes.
Oh this must be bigOh dear, what is going to happen. My body starts to shake, freaking out that he is going to get hurt or something it going to tear him apart from me.
“What…. What are you about to…” and before I could finish my question, Shane’s hand is holding the back of my head, and his lips are on mine, pushing against my open l mouth. Butterflies fill my stomach and I feel a pull in the deepest part of my belly. I’m so taken aback and surprised I can’t move, then suddenly I am kissing him back. My hands pulling his gorgeous brown hair, my legs wrapping tighter around his waist, and my mouth is hungrily searching for his. My skin is a million sensations; cold from the water, and slightly burned, but tantalized by the sensation of Shane touching me. My chest rises and falls with such bravado in my heady need for affection. I’m beguiled in this transaction of kisses and tongues. He lifts me from my bottom, wades out the water and lays me down on a towel. The beach is empty for all but us, and I feel the weight of my best friend on top of me. He puts his knees between mine, and moves my hair from my face; looking down at me he smiles and kisses me ever so gently.

10 Things I Wish I Knew About Being an Author I Didn’t

• Your book career is just as demanding as being a mother.
• How invaluable a crock pot dinner truly is, and take out.
• That you can take on the personality of your characters quite easily, and your significant other
and children will think you have multiple personalities – and you just might.
• How little sleep you will get, because the characters in your head won’t shut up.
• How this is seriously a full time job, just like owning your own business – however it’s not like
you can delegate any jobs to anyone.
• If you’re a writer – don’t be an editor – you’re just going to see what you wrote the first time
and it’s probably not right.
• Once your family and friends buy the book – it’s up to you to make it sell; it won’t sell itself no
matter how much you want it to.
• You need two types of friends- The ones who will support you and make you feel loved when
you need it; and the ones who will be real with you. If you have one who does both – you’re
golden.
• Everyone is going to give you unsolicited advice. Listen to all of it, and just take the parts that
you’re comfortable with. You can’t think of everything.
• If you don’t get out of the house when you’re writing – pajama’s will become the unofficial
uniform.

The Writing World’s Author Interview With Kristen

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I love reading and writing. I am the oldest out of a big blended family of 7 kids. My youngest sister was born 2 days before my high school graduation. I also love to draw, though I am not the best at it. I love making friends!  I have an awkward sense of humor, and a love for learning, and snuggling in bed with my boys or husband watching bad TV.

What do you do when you are not writing?

Normally you can find me singing horribly off key, cooking for anyone who will eat and playing with my boys.

Do you have a day job as well?

I do, I'm an personal assistant for an Commercial Insurance agent.

When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?

I wrote a book that was published in 2010. However, this is my first self published novel, and for all intents and purposes I'm treating this as my first. I starting writing Saving Georgia official this past summer (20130 but it was an idea I was toying with for years in the making. I finished it this summer as well.

How did you choose the genre you write in?

I don't like to label myself as a specific genre to write in, because I want to keep my options open. However, I chose to put this book in the new adult/ young adult area for the subject matter at hand, and I felt that this was the most appropriate and classy way to handle the touchy subject matter.

Where do you get your ideas?

Life in general! There's tons of personal things in my books that really hit home for me, which also gives me the feeling of laying naked on the pages - which excites and scares me. It's not just my life I take from, but the lives of those around me as well.

Do you ever experience writer’s block?

Oh yes. Who doesn't.

Do you work with an outline, or just write?

Yes I do. Always - it's the best way to help prevent writers block and make sure there's a great cohesiveness to the story.

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?

There's a few that I really loved, "Invincible summer" by Jean Farris was a big one for me - and Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors. Jasinda Wilder and Kelly Elliot are currently a big inspiration for me as of now - giving me hope that I can make my own dreams to come true.
