#Silenced Blog Tour Stop

Welcome to the next stop along the tour.

This stop was scheduled for My Home Away From Home

About Silenced

Amber Brown spent her entire existence believing Dave was her father. When her mother reveals this is untrue, she goes through an emotional spiral with depression. It's hard for her to believe her mother had lied to her all this time.

A move to a new home and town causes Amber to be consumed by her "darkness" and reverts to cutting to free herself from her pain.

When Casey, her new friend enters her life, she introduces Amber to parties, drugs, and Amber's new boyfriend Landon. The secret of cutting begins to take affect on Amber as she tries to hide it from her friends and family. In the midst of everything, Amber has the desire to find out who her biological father is.

Follow Amber through her trials of depression and cutting, along with the discovery of love.

Interview

Jenn: Hello Raebeth, thank you so much for coming over to the blog today!

Raebeth: Thank you. I’m very happy to be here.

Jenn: You have to be so excited about the release of Silenced! What was your inspiration for the book?

Raebeth: My inspiration came from personal experience and from the experience of others. Depression tends to take the back burner in society today. Therefore, I figured it’s time we put it in the spotlight and begin to make people aware.

Jenn: What character do you relate to most?

Raebeth: I relate mostly to Amber. The main character. She has troubles in school with fitting in and goes into a relationship quickly, and she suffers from depression. I had these same issues when I was younger and most of it stemmed off of the depression which at the time I didn’t realize.

Jenn: Do you base your characters on people you know or are they completely fictional?

Raebeth: It depends on which book I’m writing. But I tend to do both. Some characters are based off of people that I know while others are completely made up.

Jenn: I recently started writing and I find that my characters seem to start “talking” whenever they feel like it. Do you keep a journal or anything with you when you are writing or do you let it all flow whenever you are at your computer?

Raebeth: I let it flow at the computer. At times I come up with an idea that I write down but when I get to the computer I don’t always use them. Some times the story takes a huge turn and it wasn’t even in the plot outline. So writing notes doesn’t always seem to work with me.

Jenn: When did you know you wanted to be an author?

Raebeth: I knew when I had family and close friends read Silenced for the first time. I tried publishing Silenced in the past but jumped the gun with it. I didn’t put it through editing or any critiques. When I realized that Silenced needed this I pulled it and worked it through the edits. I want to take a moment and say thank you to the wonderful editor who helped me polish Silenced up to where it is now... So thank you Stephanie for all that you did.

Jenn: Is there anything you want to say to your fans?

Raebeth: Thank you for your support. It means so much to me to see others enjoying the small adventure within Silenced and I’m very happy to see that Silenced has even helped form words for some. The goal for Silenced is to open that door of depression and help people to understand. So far when my fans reply to Silenced and send me emails of praise and thanking me... I must say thank you for reading it and enjoying the story.

Awesome interview! I really enjoyed reading it and the excerpt of Silenced. What grabbed my interest in Silenced is what Amber Brown is going through in her teenage life - the depression and cutting herself. I am looking forward to reading this book soon. Thank you so much for the giveaway!
